Pet policies vary from one pet to another, with breed, age, purpose etc. Each airline also follows different pet policies to ensure safe travel of your pets. Pet policies differ for in cabinet fly and baggage. So here are some of them.
In cabinet policy
In Qatar airways only falcons (one bird pet passenger) in economy class are allowed in cabinet to fly along with you. They are also restricted to fly within the cabinet on flights to tunis. To fly with a falcon in cabinet you will need to contact Qatar airways at least 48 hours prior to travel. With proper regulations, service or emotional support animals (one dog per person) can fly along with the owner. They can also travel free of charge in the cabin only on water airways flights to or from Australia, Brazil, Canada, EU, Georgia, India, Norway, Switzerland, and united states and in all other flights, they can travel free if charge as checked baggage.
You are also responsible to notify at least 48 hours prior to travel when you fly with service or emotional support animals and also provide pet pads or some other absorbent materials for your dog. You will also be asked to submit documentation on the letter heard of a licensed medical professional within the past year that will certify the need for the pet to be with you.
Checked baggage pet policy
If your pet cannot be taken in the cabin, you can opt for checked pet baggage following certain pet policies. Pets that are allowed as checked baggage are dogs or cats, livestock, tropical fish, small mammals and birds. There are no limitations on number of checked baggage as they are counted or weighed separately. To fly your pet as checked baggage it must not weigh greater than 75 kg and should be more than 12 weeks of age. Reservations for checked baggage must be done between 3 to 7 days prior to the departure time. You are supposed to submit health certificate issued by licensed veterinarian within 10 days of travel.
Manifest (cargo) pet policies
Situation when you have to relocate you pets, but you are not flying with them, the option available is air cargo. The pets allowed to fly via air cargo are dogs or cats, livestock, horses, and other animals with some exceptions, you must submit health certificates issues within 10 days of travel with proof of vaccination and all documentations for the country you are travelling to.

Qatar Airways will not fly the following breeds or their mixes: : Greyhound dogs (with the exception of pets), Affenpinscher, Pug (all breeds), American Pit Bull Terrier, Bichon Frise, Bull dog (all breeds), Boston Terrier, Boxer, Brussels Griffon, Bull Mastiff (English Mastiff) Cane Corso, King Charles Spaniel, Chow Chow, Dogo Argentino, Dogue de Bordeaux (French Mastiff) English Mastiff, Neapolitan Mastiff, Japanese Chin, Pekingese, Presa Canario, Shar Pei, Shih Tzu, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Bull Terrier, Pitbull Terrier, American Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Valley Terrier and French Terrier
